Ushering

We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth. - 3 John 1:8

Their specific functions are:

• Welcomes worshippers and directs them to their respective seats
• Assist in whatever capacity to ensure that the guests are comfortable and that their needs are met during the service e.g. directions to the convenience rooms, assistance to nursing mothers etc.
• Maintaining order during meetings and services.
• Removal or minimizing distractions such as crying babies or ringing mobile phones during service.
• Distribution of church-related materials, such as handbills, magazines etc.

Ushers create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the church services, show kindness and care to those in need of physical support, receive worshippers and usher them to their seats, ensure orderliness in the service, and distribution of church related materials such as handbills, leaflets, books etc (psalm 84:10)
